I’m not gonna be here 9/13-9/25, so I’ll be missing my residency gigs. Thank you for coming to see me play, though! I keep my calendar updated so you can make sure I’m gonna be there if you have internet access and if you remember… After I come back, I’m at Cafe Divine again Wednesday 9/27
I have uploaded a few videos on You Tube including one by The Get Happy Stringband – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIgcfv7Q8j8
One of my sitting in with Apple Jack and Craig Ventresco – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9ZxxWXXUBM

The Get Happy Stringband (30s stringband music sung and played on guitar and fiddle by me and Darcy Noonan) is playing at Atlas Cafe in San Francisco this Saturday 8/25 4-6pm. Craig Ventresco, the mandolin player in this video, can’t be there. Atlas Cafe is on the corner of 20th St. and Alabama, and has some vegan food on its menu!
We will be playing 2 sets at Studio Quercus in Oakland; it’s at 385 26th St. between Broadway and Telegraph. We start at 8; door is at 7:30. Admission is $10 a person, and goes to funding the studio so they can afford to hire us.

Friends! Come hear me play with Darcy Noonan! I love her playing so much! She’s in the Get Happy String Band with me, and our CDs are among those available. The requested donation for tonight’s event is $8 and up
I have:
Hippo Hurray 2012 – mostly live recordings of myself singing at gigs
Craig Ventresco Plays the Guitar 2009 – This is really not my CD but it’s a great CD!
Ragtime Review 2008 – a CD Craig and I made ourselves; I think it has 12 instrumentals and 2 sung songs
Get Happy 2012 – The Get Happy Stringband’s debut CD – 14 or 15 cuts of old fiddle tunes, about 2/3 with vocals. It’s Darcy Noonan, Craig Ventresco, and me. Darcy and I sing harmonies; Craig plays mandolin. Darcy and Craig play just like the 1920s stringbands; hard and soulfully. If you are into country 78s from the 1920s, and you know what they sound like, you will not believe how much Darcy’s and Craig’s playing sounds like them.
It’ll be available very soon. It’ll have 13 tracks, all sung by yours truly (Meredith Axelrod).
